Construction Updates February 10th, 2007
While at the park today for some photos of the Starliner construction area I was talking to a friend and a person asked if I were a coaster club member. I turned around and he said do you know who I am, well I said yes I sure do,  Mr. Leonard Adams President of the company doing the rebuild and is the man in charge of the rebuild. It was a great privilege to meet and talk with him. I asked about moving the Starliner, he said it is something he has gained expertise at after moving a few in his career. He said that the Starliner was removed, stacked and shipped in only 10 weeks time. The owners and everybody involved were overly impressed with how fast the ride was moved. I asked about retracking, during a move such as this only the support structure is brought with. So Starliner, in the process of a rebuild will have all new track.  One of the trains is done and is on its way back from PTC after its rebuild so a would assume they are on the second one. We talked about track design and how different builders have different standards of building. It was very interesting to discuss how a wood track is made sitting on a park bench at Cypress Gardens with the Pres. Currently Mr. Adams is in the waiting game as they seem to have a couple of permit issues and then work should get going. Some other things that we talked about were other rides that could use some retracking and of course we talked about the new Flying Turns they are doing at Knoebels. So lets see besides the cool surprise what did we see at the park. Well Starliner still stacked in the field. Some temporary fencing for construction areas are going up. There are 2 new rides going in to the park a rock climbing wall which may just be a relocation and a new 4 way bungee-trampoline ride. Below are a few photos of the bungee ride and Starliner stacked. More to come as work gets going.

Construction Updates March 20th, 2007
I stopped by the park today for a quick look at what is happening. Currently most of the kiddie rides have been removed from behind the Triple Hurricane. Most of the new locations are being worked on. Concrete pads were being finalized for the rest of the kiddie rides. Starliner, Well looks like work has finally started. It looks to me as if the layout has been surveyed as there were flag markers along where the ride is going to go. Some dirt work has been done but most of the work right now is with moving the kiddie rides. Also the park is now advertising a Summer opening of the Starliner so somewhere in July will be the time. Below are some photos showing where the ride is going and some of the kiddie rides.

Construction Updates March 29th, 2007
Starliner work has picked up this week as lots of new footers are in place and more were getting poured today while I was at the park. The footers are from the start of the brake run, around to the round station house, back along the fence line and up to where the lift hill will start. Out in the field where Starliner has been stacked they have laid the structure out in preparation for installation. Lots of kiddie rides on the move as several more locations have been started to finalize the kiddie ride moves.
