Expedition Everest Annual Pass Preview
Below are photos from the Expedition Everest Sneak a Peak Preview activities at Animal Kingdom. Below are photos of the roller coaster from January 26th, 2006.
The special preview weekend has finally arrived. Walt Disney Worlds Animal Kingdom  was having an Annual Pass Sneak Preview of there new roller coaster Expedition Everest. Several thousand pass holders were on hand for the first day of a special weekend set up by Disney to give pass holders a sneak peak at the new ride. The new roller coaster built in and and around a mountain and village replicating the real Mt. Everest. Three years in the making and 100 million dollars later the ride is complete enough for a preview. The day began with a quick walk to the Everest ride area where the Q line started. First you had to get a coupon for the special lanyards with a collector Disney Everest button. The themeing is incredible around the bottom of the mountain. Disney has recreated village complete with religious budas, gardens and all kinds of camping gear. Onto the ride an entire  we waited only a few minutes and we were off for a spin. The ride has a small section before the main lift and up you go for the highest part of the mountain. A little turn then a reversal of motion for a great reverse carousel turn. Then the Yeti stalks you and you reverse direction and out the front of the mountain for a nice carousel turn and back into the mountain. More crazy turns and out the back of the mountain for a helix and a half. Then the Yeti attacks you and you are done. The ride is an incredible experience and Disney really has a great ride on the hands. Its really a great experience and a must ride. Below are some photos from the preview showing some of the crowds the mountain area, roller coaster and other things associated with the new ride.
