Today I was invited to Sea World in Orlando, Florida for an exclusive Hard Hat Tour of the Mako construction site. Mako a new B&M hyper style roller coaster being built at the park is closing in on its opening day of June 10th, 2016. The day began with an 8:00 am check in and we were off to see the the new roller coaster and all its associated buildings. We entered the construction site and the event began with a short announcement from Brian Morrow of Sea World. We then divided into groups to make the event more managable. Our group headed over to a cool sculpture called Finn a shark made of trash from the ocean. We then walked over the the entrance of the ride for a short display of the ride and surrounding are on a Previs monitor that was used during development of the ride. After the video and a short Q and A we began our walk down the Q line toward the Q house. Up the stairs and into the station house for a look at the trains and station area. After a few photos and of the station and a short explanation by Brain about the Q and trains it was time to head out along the track. We headed out along the lake to get a good view of the ride and the main drop. After a short bit and more Q and A with park staff it was time to head back toward the exit of the ride. A last look at the gift shop and exit of the ride our event tour was over. It was an amazing experience to get a look at the new Mako roller coaster and various building and stuff. Many thanks to Sea World for the invite to the event. Below are 56 photos from the event showing various things that we got to see along the tour. What an amazing day!!
