Today I had the opportunity to attend a Hard Hat Construction Tour of the new Falcon's Fury ride at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. Members of the media and various amusement related websites were invited to the days activities. The ride is a new prototype drop tower ride built by IntimanAG. The tower stands 330 feet tall and the drop will be from around 300 feet up. At the apex of the ride you will be rotate 90 degrees to face the ground and then dropped like a rock. Toward the bottom of the free fall you will swoop down out of the 90 degree angle to a seated position as the ride comes to stop. So on to the tour which were done in 3 different tours with each tour giving an over view of the new ride, area improvements and the new Pantopia area. The tours were done by Mark Rose VP of design and engineering, Brian Morrrow corporate director of themeing and Jeff Hornick director of design and engineering. So our group started with Mark with various looks at different things pertaining to the new restraints, building improvements and a look inside the old 4D attraction being converted for new shows. The next tour was with Brian as we mostly got over views of how the story of Pantopia has been developed. The park is really doing a lot to create story lines with the area and new ride. The last tour for our group was with Jeff as we got to look at and sit in one of the seats for the new ride. We got a good description of the ride, how the seats worked and other interesting facts. That brings an end to the Hard Hat Tour of Falcons Fury and the new Pantopia area at Busch Gardens.
