Time once again for the annual Spring Fling event at Six Flags Over Georgia hosted by the Southeast region of the American Coaster Enthusiast. The event began with a 7:30 am check in and pick up of my registration package. The morning schedule was to have the Georgia Scorcher first followed by Goliath after about a half hour however there was a problem this year with temperatures in the low 40s. The park had stated they would not operate the roller coasters under 45 degrees. To my surprise one of the park staff came out and informed us that the rides would open around 8:45 am as the temperatures were in the safe zone. So I headed straight to Goliath were I would spend my 1 1/2 hours of exclusive ride time. The club gathered for lunch which consisted of catered chicken, rolls, salad and chocolate cake for desert. Part of this years event was the retirement of the regions long time representative Robert Ulrich after more then 10 years of volunteer service. The event ended with another 1 1/4 hour of rides on several more of the roller coasters at Six Flags. Total rides for our ride time was in the 40 to 50 laps with continuous re rides during our ride times. I decided to highlight Batman the Ride this year due to its new blue on dark blue color scheme. Below are various photos of Mindbender, Georgia Scorcher and a few photos of Goliath.
