Today I visited Winter Haven, Florida for a preview and meet and greet with the new owners of Legoland Florida. There were a lot of Legoland staff on hand to answer any questions they could. A lot of the people in the crowd were local business and home owners that were curious about the parks future. At the show they had many large banners on display showing some of the new additions and improvements to parts of the old Cypress Gardens park. During part of the discussion park officials addressed some issues about some of the rides and shows. The ski show will stay and will get a lego type theme. The botanical gardens will stay and will get some lego sculptures added in some locations. The water park will remain closed until after Legoland Florida opens but they stated the water park will return. They also said some new coasters will be added. I am guessing some kind of wild mouse or wacky worm type coaster. Park officials said they will have 50 rides and attractions when they reopen in 2011. And now to the sad news of the show. The Starliner roller coaster will not be part of the new Legoland Florida. It was stated by the park that the ride will be dismantled and stacked for future sale hopefully to another park. Below I have photos from where the preview was, some of the lego stuff on display and the large banners.
