Time once again for the annual Spring Fling event at Six Flags Over Georgia hosted by the Southeast region of the American Coaster Enthusiast. The event began with a 7:30 am check in and pick up of my registration package. The morning schedule was to have the Georgia Scorcher first followed by Goliath after about a half hour. To my surprise one of the park staff came out and informed us that Goliath would open right at 8:00 am. So I headed straight to Goliath were I would spend my 2 hours of Exclusive Ride Time. I was able to ride the entire 2 hours in basically the same train and was able to get about 30 rides in a row on it. Other rides had opened for the morning ERT session but I stayed on Goliath. The club gathered for lunch which consisted of catered in Lasagna, rolls, salad and chocolate cake for desert. During lunch ACE offered a special behind the scene photo tour which was done by raffle. Well after many years of trying to win I was one of the lucky 5 who won the raffle. Then the rain started which lasted for about 2 hours so the tour was delayed a bit. The tour consisted of a long walk around some of the back areas of the park including a walk around The Great American Scream Machine, close up to Superman and a close look at Goliath and Mindbender. It was great to be able to go on the tour as the photos below show. The event ended with more ERT on several more of the great coasters at Six Flags. Thanks to ACE and Six Flags for offering the tour and putting together another great event. Below you will find some photos of the new Thomas Town kids area which is under construction with an expected May 17th opening. There are photos of what is left of the now removed Free Fall ride, various photos from inside the track area of Mindbender and around Great American Scream Machine along with lots of other various photos from the park.
