As part of the Spring Conference Event held by the American Coaster Enthusiasts we were invited to Kentucky Kingdom for a sneak peak at the park which is set to reopen after a lengthy closure. We arrived at noon for a visit with park representatives, lunch and a discussion about the park and its future. After lunch the main attraction was a new roller coaster called Lightning Run built by Chance-Morgan. So we headed over to the coaster for our ride time. We had a scheduled 2 hours of ERT where we could ride both Lightning run and Thunder Run a wooden roller coasters also at the park. We had a very short visit at the park which was also hosting an Amazon sneak preview of the park. So just a quick trip around the park for a few photos of some of the work done to refurbish the park. The new roller coaster Lightning Run is pretty fun with a 100 foot height and lots of unique twists and turns both diving up, down and all around. Its a fun little coaster with lots packed into a small layout. Overall it was a short visit to the park for a quick look around, a few rides on the coasters and our preview was at its end. Great day with nice weather and getting a sneak peak at a park. What a great stop over and great to see Kentucky Kingdom open again.
