Final day of the Spring Conference Event held by the American Coaster Enthusiasts we were to Kings Island in Kings Mill, Ohio for more fun. Sunday at the event began for me with a 7:30 am arrival just in time for the morning ERT on Banshee the new B&M inverted roller coaster. I spent the first hour or so riding Banshee and then headed over to Firehawk for a ride before the park opened for the day. Picked up my FastLane+ band and it was time for lots more Banshee rides. I would spend the next several hours walking and riding Banshee and with the Fastlane I was riding just about every 9 minutes with regular waits about an hour. Overall I rode Banshee around 40 or so times then headed for Diamondback another B&M roller coaster. Banshee is awesome, the ride has great speed and power and has a lot of height through out the ride. All the drops are very long providing a fantastic ride experience. The various inversions on Banshee are well paced and a blast in every seat. So its onto Diamondback for a few rides and onto the other highlight of the trip was a 2 hour tour of 4 of the parks roller coasters including behind the scenes areas. Our tour began with a walk over to the Racer and some photo time of the main drop and other area. Next up was a walk behind Firehawk a Vekoma Flying Dutchman roller coaster. The first part of the tour ended and time to switch hosts and head for a look at Diamondback and the Beast. So into another back area as we had a nice hill to just be coaster spectators for a bit. Then time for a look at the Beast but it was down for the time. The park was super cool and invited us back in a couple hours to finish the tour. So another few rides on Banshee and onto the Beast tour. A quick walk under the lift and down to tunnel area. That about raps up my experience at the park, there was a lot of other things happening during the ACE event but my priority was Banshee and the tours. It was an amazing day at the park and Kings Island really rolled out the Red carpet in everyway. Many thanks to all at ACE and Kings Island for a fantastic day.
