Event Details

Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida needed some extras to be a part of a two day film session on the Incredible Hulk roller coaster. The first days event began with a 6:00 am arrival and check in. During our check in we signed the usual disclosures and agreements. Around 8:00 am the riding and filming began. The train had a large array of camera equipment mounted on the front of the train along with 3 or 4 camera men located around the roller coaster. Our group of 12 enthusiasts were granted all day riding access as were actors being extras in the filming as well. So the day was spent riding the roller coaster, each time we would ride and return to the station, there was about 10 minutes of camera adjustments and then out for another run on the roller coaster. We broke for lunch at 12:30 pm with sub-sandwiches and chips supplied by the park. After lunch they opened the coaster to the public but they were still filming on the coaster as we and the other actors and actresses could ride the coaster as much as we wanted the rest of the day.
The second day began much the same as the first day with a 6:00 am check in and first rides around 8:30 am. Things were going much like the day before with riding and camera adjusting when around 10:45 am there was a technical malfunction. The roller coaster came to a complete stop mid ride in the mid coarse brake. After about 15 minutes of trying to restart the roller coaster the staff arrived to remove us from the coaster. Park staff had to release us from the seats and then escorted us down the evacuation stairs to the ground. The mid brake is about 45 feet in the air so we got an exclusive look at the back area of the roller coaster which was a real cool experience. After a little down time the roller coaster was up and running again as filming resumed. Below are some photos from the filming event and a couple group photos of some of the enthusiasts that helped out. A couple weeks later I received a letter in the mail from the park. We were given 4 complimentary passes and a thank you letter thanking us for helping out with the filming. It was a great couple of days on the Incredible Hulk roller coaster with 30 and 1/2 rides over two days and the experience of getting removed from the roller coaster will be remembered.

thank you card and tickets we received.
