Trip Details

Today I made a visit to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to get some rides on Lightning Rod an amazing launched wooden hybrid roller coaster. I arrived to the park around 11:00 am and heard the roller coaster run so I knew I was in luck, today would be the day. The ride has been in temporary opening all season as they tweak the ride with it being a prototype. So over to the ride I headed, after a short wait into the Q I went. The ride looks great sitting up on the hill. The launch is amazing, has some crazy drops and wild turns. After 6 rides with a front seat, back seat and several middle the ride broke down for the rest of the day. I then headed to the back of the park for some rides on the amazing Wild Eagle wing coaster built by B&M. After some time on the ride I toured the park grabbing photos of the roller coasters and my time was done at Dollywood. Was a great day and got to ride Lightning Rod.
