Today I was invited to Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida by the American Coaster Enthusiasts to participate in the Media Day activities for the new Cobras Curse roller coaster. I arrived at 9:00 am to check in and fill out the media release forms. We then were escorted up to the loading plate form for a day of being an extra fillin during media shoots. Through out the day were would fill the seats behind various media outlets as they did there live video feeds from the park. I was able to ride around 30 times on the new roller coaster. The new ride is amazing fun and has incredible themeing. The ride itself is a family style spinning ride built by Mack. The ride starts with a unique elevator lift hill and a face off with Fang a giant 90 foot tall themed snake. A turn to the left and down the first drop with a bank to the left. Then you head up over the mid brake run to the left and down another fun hill. Into the mid brake and you get turned around backward for the second part of the ride. Around a up and down helix turn and up the mid ride traditional lift hill. Once you drop off the lift you enter the last section of track in a free spin mode. Depending on the various sizes of people in the train, you get different amounts of spin. The rest of the ride is a series of high banked turns with spins and some cool deep trenches. A few more turns and into the final brake run. The ride is a lot of fun, has some unique elements and provides a different ride experience each time you ride. It was another amazing day at Busch Gardens and always a great time at media day. Many thanks to Busch Gardens for inviting us and thanks to the American Coaster Enthusiasts for the invite.
