Media Day Event
Today Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida invited members of the American Coaster Enthusiasts to take part in the Media Day activities for there new roller coaster Cheetah Hunt. Around 25 members of the club were invited to the park to be ride fill ins as the working media did there videos and story lines for publication. I arrived for a 5 am check in and received our cool Cheetah Hunt arm bands. We were then escorted to the rides queue area. Through out the morning we could basically ride the new roller coaster as much as we wanted as they had film slots set up every few minutes. With the few numbers that were invited to fill the seats you could ride almost every time. Our fill in time was from 5 am to 1 pm so in 7 hours I was able to ride over 30 times. Part of the new roller coaster and new area associated with the ride is a new Cheetah habitat and viewing area. Part of the habitat they have what the park calls a cheetah run where cheetahs are trained to chase a toy on a pulley system that gets the cheetahs to run close to full speed. It is an amazing experience to see the animals run at close to speeds of 40 miles an hour for a short distance. There are viewing windows and lots of places to see the cheetahs in there habitat area. So how is the new roller coaster well simply put its an amazing addition to the parks roller coaster line up. Cheetah Hunt has 3 powerful launch areas, airtime on every hill and lots of speed throughout the ride. Nothing you could complain about the coaster it is just an amazing ride with lots of unexpected ride experiences. Overall it was simply an amazing day to be a fill in and take part in the parks Media Day activities. Below are various photos from media day including ride photos, cheetahs and the habitat, film equipment, photos of the trains and some photos of the trains as they run the coarse. Thanks to ACE and Busch Gardens for the invite.
